Hello!

Welcome to Heart Song Creative Arts Therapy and Counselling.

My name is Brodie and my pronouns are she/her.

I am an experienced and accredited Psychotherapist, who offers trauma-informed Creative Arts Therapy and Counselling services. I have a Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice, hold dual accreditation with ANZACATA and PACFA , and have been practicing for over a decade in both clinical and community settings, working with both young and adult clients.

I deeply value offering individuals and communities client-centred, neuro-affirming and accessible therapeutic services and would love to make the time to chat with you about how I may be able to support you or your child. Please fill out the contact form or email directly to schedule your free “discovery call” with me.

My background…

I recently held the role of National Clinical Practice Specialist in a leading cancer support organisation, advising on best clinical practice for working with young people impacted by cancer, and have previously led a young people’s program for children in an alcohol and drug support service. I am also widely experienced in working with aged care residents living with dementia and other care needs, as well as with children and young people with complex medical conditions and in palliative care, alongside supporting their families.

I have particular interest areas in supporting children and young people with disabilities and/or who have experienced medical interventions, as well as working with neurodivergent individuals and their families and I endeavour to stay up to date with the NDIS Code of Conduct, as well as the details of the National Autism Strategy.

I am currently completing a Professional Doctorate, researching the therapeutic benefits of a songwriting practice through grief and bereavement.

As a Creative Arts Therapist, I use a “multimodal” arts approach (which includes visual art, music and play therapy processes) and am passionate about meeting the unique needs of each individual I have the opportunity to work with.

The core value of my practice is offering each person the opportunity to be witnessed, heard and understood in all of the unique ways they may express themselves.
